Little Hands Farm, in East Warren, has been busy this summer making sure our children will be provided with fresh local vegetables. This year, Little Hands Farm has dedicated most of their gardens to area schools. Farmer Sally Kendall has rows and rows of fresh vegetables just waiting to part of your child’s school lunch. Sally and I stay in close contact. She grows the vegetables and I do what I can to preserve the harvest. Already, we have several pounds of broccoli harvested and in our school freezer. This effort goes along with our continuing focus on eating healthy, organic and local foods.

Foodservice Director and Chef Cheryl Joslin and Assistant Chef Arthur Washington head up our amazing kitchen! Each day, they work to create healthy, nutritious meals that children truly enjoy. Their culinary expertise includes fresh, organic food in order to support our local farmers whenever possible. Mrs. Joslin also comes into the classroom to educate our children on making healthy food choices and how to use food in order to keep their bodies and minds at their best. Each day Mrs. Joslin and Mr. Washington offer an assortment of food for breakfast, snack and lunch that will delight the choosiest of pallates. Parents and community members are welcome to join us ~ please call ahead and make a reservation. See you in the lunchroom!
